Theft at Corte Pavone

Dear Loacker Friends and Partners,
We would like to share with you some quite upsetting news: we had a theft at our winery in Montalcino in Corte Pavone.
During the night between April 30th and May 1st, circumventing all our security systems, a group of 4/5 people forced the doors of our cellar in Corte Pavone and stole a huge quantity of labelled bottles of Brunello di Montalcino D.O.C.G. a van and a company car.
As you can easily imagine, the theft of Brunello is the worst damage: half of the stolen wine was from the vintage 2010 and ready for collection and half was a good part of our old vintages library, labels from 1990 to 2001.
The Comando dei Carabinieri of Montalcino is investigating: there have been precedents in the area during the last few months and in their opinion the wines will be sold abroad in the grey market.
We are conveying this information so that you are aware that we might experience some difficulties in satisfying all Brunello requests during next months and in order to ask you to report any suspect Brunello Corte Pavone offer that you might receive.
We don’t know if we will be able to get any of the stolen goods and we are conscious that they might be in dubious storage conditions; our only solace is the thought that these bottles will travel the world spreading Corte Pavone’s name and prestige.
