cru name and its meaning:
The Cru “Fior di Meliloto” (en. Sweet yellow clover) is appropriately named as the wine produced from this vineyard - the most flowery, fruity character of all the dynamic crus.
vineyard and its particularity:
The vineyard of our “Fior di Meliloto” crus has the coolest climate due to its northern exposure and the associated Tramontana winds. The lower part of the vineyard, on the edge of a strong drainage zone, is rather wet and cold in the winter months.
terroir and its influence:
Here in the Cru Fior di Meliloto you will find the purest Galestro (slate) soil at the Corte Pavone estate. Due to its northern position, the soil receives less sun and therefore remains cool and damp.
The soil consists mainly of Galestro (slate) and sand and is very deep. It is therefore able to absorb rainwater and allow it to drain away. The vine appreciates this coolness and depth!
